Teriyaki Sauce is very easy to make at home with just a few simple ingredients and about 10 minutes. I use simple ingredients like low sodium soy sauce, garlic, ginger, honey, rice vinegar, broth, and cornstarch to thicken it. This is a perfect sauce to add to chicken, salmon, vegetables, wings, and so much more.
Combine all ingredients for the sauce in a small mixing bowl. Whisk well until everything is incorporated.
Pour in the mixture into a sauce pot and bring it to simmer over medium heat. Stir often while the sauce heats up and thickens.
Let is simmer for a couple more minutes, stirring often. Take off heat and the sauce is ready for use.

Notes
*Gluten free notes: if you need to make this sauce gluten free, use gluten free sauce sauce, tamari. (Note that coconut aminos is not as good of a substitute in this sauce because soy is such a big part of the recipe.)
Storing: store cooled sauce in a glass jar with an air-tight lid. Store it in the refrigerator for 4-5 days.
To use some of the sauce: make sure to pour some out instead of scooping it with the spoon. This will ensure that bacteria is not introduced to the sauce by the spoon and extend the shelf life.
