Cookie Dough Filled Chocolate Cookies
Soft Chocolate Cookies filled with raw Cookies Dough. These soft cookie sandwiches are inspired by Oreo cookies but filled with raw cookie dough. This recipe for cookies dough does not contain raw egg so it is safe to eat.

Cookie Dough Chocolate Cookies
Have you every thought about what an Oreo cookie might taste like filled with cookie dough instead of cream?
No? I must be the only one who thinks of crazy things like that.
This cookie was actually inspired by my son who always has to try cookie dough and batter while I’m baking. If you’re like him and just love raw cookie dough, this treat will be perfect for you.
I always question whether it’s safe to try the raw cookie dough and raw batter because it contains uncooked eggs. So, I always tell him to only had a tiny little taste.
With this cookie dough, you can go bananas! Eat all you want but you may want to save enough to add to the cookies because these chocolate cookie sandwiches are amazing combined with the cookie dough.

Chocolate Cookies Filled With Cookie Dough
Ingredients
Chocolate cookies:
- 1 cup unsalted butter room temperature
- 1 1/4 cups light brown sugar
- 2 eggs room temperature
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp baking soda
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter room temperature
- 2/3 cup light brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tbsp whole milk
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- Powdered sugar for dusting optional
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- Beat butter and sugar together for a couple of minutes, until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
- Add vanilla, mix well.
- Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, cinnamon, and baking soda. Mix on low speed until all combined.
- Scoop out some cookie dough and roll into balls with your hands. (I use #50 or #40 cookie scoop.) Press down lightly and lay them out on the cookie sheet, a couple of inches apart.
- Bake for 8-9 minutes and cool completely on a wire rack.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough:
- Beat butter and sugar together for a couple of minutes, until light and fluffy. Add vanilla extract and milk, mix well.
- Add flour and mix on low speed until all combined. Fold in mini chocolate chips.
- Make sure the cookies are cooled before adding cookie dough and making them into sandwiches.
- Dust cookie sandwiches with powdered sugar if you wish.

These look amazing! I am wondering if the flour for the cookie dough center has to be heat treated before use. Perhaps you said and I missed it. Thank you!
Yes, you will need to heat-treat the flour. This is an older recipe so I need to update it to reflect that.
